RECORD SETTING WIN: #4 WolfPack blank Milwaukee for record tenth win

Britt Schumann hat trick ties freshman for Madison College all-time goals record

MADISON, WISC. - For the fourth straight year since the program's inception, the Madison College women's soccer team set a new record for wins thanks to a resounding 13-0 dismantling of in-state rival Milwaukee Area Technical College. Powered by a pair of hat tricks, the #4 WolfPack earned their tenth win of the season, moving one win better than the nine-win team of 2016, both of which were coached by Matt Schwartz. Freshman Esther Noriega registered her second hat trick of the season against the Stormers, while fellow first year Britt Schumann's three-goal effort pushed her season total to 19, tying the program's all-time goals record and breaking the regular season record for total points.

Continuing their dominance over MATC-Milwaukee, Madison College raced out to a 9-0 lead in the first 21 minutes of the game. Freshman Tierra Sackett opened the scoring just 36 seconds in with her second goal in the last two games. It took 33 second for Schumann to get on the board with her first goal of the night for a 2-0 WolfPack lead. Both goals went unassisted, and Schumann's leapfrogged the DeForest, Wisconsin, native past Elizabeth Conejo ('14) for most total points in a single season with 36. She would finish the night with 40.

Tianna Sackett added her name to the scoring list in the 6', converting a pass from Monica Chavarria to match her twin sister with goals in back-to-back games. Noriega followed with two consecutive scoring strikes in the 8' and 10', the latter of which was assisted by Tierra Sackett. Schumann capped her day with a pair of consecutive goals in the 11' and 17', with assists credited to Tianna Sackett and Peyton Trapino, respectively. The high-scoring striker pulled even with Arianna Viscarra ('16) atop the career goals scored list with 19, doing so in 20 fewer games.

The WolfPack continued to pour it on throughout the first half with six more goals, taking a 13-0 lead into the half and all the way through to the final. Freshman Erin True followed the back-to-back goals trend set by Noriega and Schumann with a pair of successful kicks of her own for her first career goals. Sophomore Aja Gurney also tallied her first career goal before Trapino and Breanne Kreklow tallied goals to cap the scoring before halftime. Also in the mix was Noriega's third goal in the 26' minute. The New Glarus, Wisconsin, native, who finished with a team-best seven points in the match, has scored seven of her 11 goals this season against the Stormers.

Freshman Madison Krohn made her first career start in goal as all-conference and all-region 'keeper Brandie Gospodarek did not play. Krohn, a native of Edgerton, Wisconsin, made four saves en route to her first career win and shutout.

Madison College has outscored its North Central Community College Conference rival 47-0 in four wins over the past two seasons.
