Viscarra hat trick paces WolfPack to easy win

Sophomore scores most goals since her collegiate debut

LA SALLE, ILL. - Back on September 2, 2015, then freshman Arianna Viscarra made her collegiate soccer debut in a big way, scoring four goals in a 9-1 Madison College win over Triton College. Fast forward to Tuesday night when the now sophomore nearly equaled that production with three goals in a 5-1 WolfPack road win over Illinois Valley Community College.

Viscarra, a striker/midfielder from Middleton (WI) HS, converted a Lindsay Kraemer pass in the eighth minute to give the Madison College (4-4) women's soccer team a lead it would never relinquish. Eight minutes later she did it again, this time taking a Katie Travis pass and scoring for a 2-0 advantage.

Freshman Breanne Kreklow made it a three-goal advantage in the 26th minute, moving the New Glarus, Wisconsin, native into a tie for the team lead in goals this season with seven, matching Travis.

Viscarra then capped her scoring output, netting a first-half hat trick in the 39th minute. It again came via an assist from Travis. For Viscarra, it's her fifth goal of the year and 13th of her career.

After Illinois Valley (1-8) tallied their only goal late in the first half, Madison College brought the differential right back to four with a Katie Travis goal just less than five minutes into the second half.

The WolfPack doubled up the Eagles in the shots category, posting 18 overall and ten on goal compared to nine and four for the home team.

Thought freshman Brandie Gospodarek wasn't able to register her third shut out of the season, she did tally three saves.

Madison College is back home for the sixth time in nine games to start the year when they host Triton College (3-4, 1-3) on Friday, September 23 at Warner Park. The WolfPack blanked the Trojans 4-0 to open North Central Community College Conference play on August 31 away from Madison, and now own a 2-4 league record.
