MADISON, WISC. - Wet conditions forced yet another delay and location change for the Madison College men's soccer team, this time a 23-hour delay and a shift to historic Breese Stevens Field in downtown Madison. Once again it did not impact the play on the field as the WolfPack improved to 4-0-1 on the season and 3-0 in the North Central Community College Conference with a 4-0 win over Joliet Junior College.
Goaltender
Juan Martinez earned his first shut out of the season, finishing with four saves. The sophomore from Verona Area (WI) HS also posted a shutout as a WolfPack goalie during the 2013 season.
Offensively, the WolfPack owned the early portion of the first half, netting three goals in a five minute span. Sophomore
Christian Munoz began the scoring with a goal in the 14th minute, giving the Walworth, Wisconsin, native a team-best seven on the season. The conversion came off an assist by
Jake Andrews.
Andrews then made it 2-0 in the 18th minute off a pass
Bobby Beaudet. And one minute later,
Bachirou Lo pushed the advantage to three goals, scoring on a
Ricardo Ramos assist for a 3-0 lead.
It remained that way until Sam LaMarche capped the scoring in the 87th minute, converting a
Davide Costa pass for his first goal of the season.
Madison College travels to in-state rival Milwaukee Area Technical College (0-4, 0-2) on Friday. The WolfPack have won seven straight in the series. Kick off is at 4:00 p.m. in Milwaukee.
