PALATINE, ILL. - Needing a win to claim a share of a fifth straight North Central Community College Conference championship, the Madison College women's volleyball team also needed to exact a bit of revenge. Unfortunately for the WolfPack, neither worked out in a 3-1 loss at Harper College on Thursday, marking the second time the Hawks got past Madison College in a matchup of the NJCAA's top two ranked teams in Division III.

The opening set went to the home team, 25-22, but Madison College (25-3, 10-2) reversed the score for a 22-25 victory to even the match after two sets. Then Harper College (36-1, 12-0) finished off the match, and their first N4C championship since sharing the crown with Madison College and Rock Valley College in 2012, by taking the final two sets, 25-19 and 25-22.

For the match, the Hawks finished with ten more kills, three more aces, and six more digs, while the WolfPack were tops in blocks.

Sophomore
TeAnn Harms stacked up a team-best 14 kills as the only player in double-figures for the 'Pack. The product of Reedsburg (WI) HS also had a team-high attack percentage of .464 with just one hitting error on 28 attempts.
Keifer Zimmerman had eight kills and
Andrea Bauer seven as the WolfPack hit .207.

Taylor Genthe and
Keely Brown split the setter role, with Genthe handing out 21 assists and Brown 16.

Defensively, sophomore
Natasha Swiggum was a part of seven blocks, including four solo blocks.
Kaitlin Mooney had a team-best 22 digs, while Zimmerman collected 18 and Bauer 14.

The loss halts the WolfPack's six-match winning streak and is the the fourth setback in the last five meetings with Harper.

Madison College will conclude the regular season on Monday, October 24 at #13 McHenry County College (25-12, NJCAA DII). The WolfPack have won three straight matches and four of the past five against the Scots, who own the all-time series by an 8-4 margin. First serve is at 6:00 p.m. in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
