10th-ranked WolfPack end season with sixth straight win

Henry hat trick, eighth shutout give Madison College best record since 2007

CHICAGO, ILL. - To put the finishing touches on their best season in nearly a decade, and by far the best season under coach Cory Sims, the Madison College men's soccer team ran away from Malcolm X College with a 4-0 non-conference win Tuesday in their regular season finale. The victory gives the #10 WolfPack, playing as a ranked team for the first time this season, their best regular season record since the 2007 team finished at 12-0-1.

Madison College (12-1-2) completely outplayed the Hawks, controlling the possession and attempting 30 shots on goal compared to just five for Malcolm X College (3-11-0).

Sophomore Ryan Henry took care of nearly all of the scoring, netting a first half hat trick to continue his recent scoring barrage. The sophomore from Madison Memorial (WI) HS scored goals in the tenth, 16th, and 24th minutes, with assists from Jake Andrews, Jose Barron, and Christian Munoz, respectively. Henry has now scored seven goals over the last five matches - and five goals in the past two games - after tallying just one in the first ten of the season.

Leading 3-0 and still in the first half, Jake Andrews and Toby Andrews combined on the final goal of the afternoon when Toby set up Jake for his 11th goal of the season.

Getting his second consecutive start as goalkeeper, freshman Blake Dehn made one save on five shots fired in his direction, en route to his second straight shutout. The Danvers, Illinois, native has not allowed a goal in 210 minutes played this season. For the season, the shutout is the eighth between Dehn and regular starter Juan Martinez, who earlier in the season put together four straight games and 482 consecutive scoreless minutes.

Madison College, champions of the North Central Community College Conference, will begin postseason play with the NJCAA Region IV Tournament Quarterfinals on Saturday, October 15. As the expected No. 1 seed in Region IV Division III, the WolfPack are expected to host their postseason opener. Time, location, and opponent will all be announced later in the week.
