The Madison College women's volleyball avenged an early season loss to North Central Community College Conference rival Harper College with a dramatic, come-from-behind win Tuesday, September 29 at Redsten Gym in a matchup of top-five programs. The win propels the #1 WolfPack to 15 consecutive wins, while also snapping a two-match losing streak against the #5 Hawks.
The tightly contested duel started with Harper College taking the first two sets before Madison College rallied to claim the final three sets of the match, including the clinching fifth set by a 15-11 margin. For the match, the WolfPack hit an impressive .253 attack percentage, highlighted by a .355 mark in the momentum shifting third set. Defensively, Madison College collected eleven blocks and 93 digs.
Three players reached double figures in kills, led by former Reedsburg standout
TeAnn Harms' 18.
Allie Lehner and
Andrea Bauer each registered 16 kills, with Bauer notching a double-double with 24 digs. Sophomore
Brianne Brueggen set a season-high with 53 assists.
Stevie Winer had a team-best 26 digs, while Lehner and Harms triggered frontline defense with seven and six blocks, respectively.
Madison College will try to keep the momentum rolling on the road Thursday, October 1 when they travel to I-94 for an in-state showdown with Milwaukee Area Technical College at 7:00 p.m.
