Madison College Men's Basketball needed overtime to beat Harper College in Palatine, IL on Saturday afternoon. The game was back and forth with the WolfPack taking a 28-22 lead at half before falling behind by nine points midway through the second half and then eventually tying the game on a pair of free throws by
Kendale Nation with three seconds left. In the extra session, the 'Pack made two field goals and all four of their free throws to win 66-64.
Madison College's first year forward,
Jerrod Walton, shot the ball well, going 9-for-12 from the field, including one triple. Walton also converted on six out of eight free throw attempts in his game-high 25 point effort. Teammates
Kendale Nation and
Shane Kanaman each contributed 10 points. Nation's ten points included the two clutch free throws with three seconds remaining. Nation was 4-for-5 from the free throw line while Kanaman was 2-for-4 from beyond the arc.
The win secured a .500 conference record and a #3 NJCAA Region IV Tournament seed. The WolfPack Men will now play the winner of Tuesday's NJCAA Region IV Play-In game between Mid Michigan Community College and Harper College. The NJCAA Region IV Quarterfinal will be played at Madison College on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
