Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

WolfPack Men hold on for win

The Madison College men's basketball team continued their winning ways this Saturday with a 58-49 win over the Wilbur Wright College Rams in front of the home crowd. The 'Pack grabbed the 27-21 halftime lead on Jerrod Walton's 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, and never looked back.

The first half started off great for the WolfPack once again as they shot 37 percent from the floor to Wilbur Wright's 30 percent. Madison also shot 50 percent beyond the arc and outscored the Rams from deep, nine points to three.

With a six point halftime lead, the 'Pack added more to their winning margin in the second half outscoring the Rams by three in the frame. Overall, Madison's 40 percent shooting clip proved to be too much for Wilbur Wright as they only managed to shoot 30 percent. Madison's strong effort from the bench (24 points) and 12 point advantage from deep also helped the cause.

Jerrod Walton led the 'Pack in scoring with 25 points on 10-of16 shooting, including 3-of-5 beyond the arc. Walton also added 10 rebounds for the double-double, his sixth of the season. Besides the double-double, Walton recorded a team high two blocks and added two steals. Kristian Zimmerman also reached double figures for the 'Pack, scoring 12 points to go with his six rebounds. Kendale Nation recorded a team high four steals in the win.

The 15-6 WolfPack have a break from N4C play, and travel to Waukesha for Monday's game against the UW-Waukesha Cougars.  The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
