WolfPack Women secure another big win over MATC-Milwaukee

In arguably their biggest game of season, the Madison College women's basketball team stepped up and showed they belong. Madison overcame a six point deficit and defeated the Milwaukee Area Technical College Stormers 79-74 in overtime on Saturday afternoon in Madison for their ninth straight. The huge N4C conference win over the Stormers, who were ranked #7 in the latest NJCAA DIII poll, improves the WolfPack's record to 20-5 and 10-2 in the N4C. The win puts Madison College in a tie atop the N4C standings with Milwaukee who also possesses a 10-2 record.

Madison College played a solid first half, but the WolfPack found themselves down six points at the break, 36-30. Jenna Endres reached double-digits with 12 points, but Madison struggled shooting the ball. The 'Pack shot 11-of-29 from the field for a 37 percent clip, and the Stormers made matters harder for Madison as they shot 50 percent (14-of-28) from the floor. Madison was able to keep things close outscoring Milwaukee beyond the arc 15 to 3 in the first half.

In the second half, Madison was able to take the field goal shooting advantage as they outshout the Stormers 36 percent to 33 percent and outscored Milwaukee 33 to 27 in the frame to force overtime.

All knotted up at 63, Madison was only able to connect on 1-of-6 field goal shots, but inflicted their damage from the free throw line. The WolfPack shot 14-of-16 from the charity stripe to outscore Milwaukee by five points in the overtime period for the 79-74 win. In a close game that saw 10 lead changes and five ties, the WolfPack scored .94 points per shot to the Stormers .92 points per shot. Madison also held distinct advantages in scoring beyond the arc (24 to 9), free throw points (19 to 13), and bench offense (28 to 14).
