#2 WolfPack close 2015 with 11th straight win

Like so many of their games this season, the Madison College women found the basket early and often Friday against UW-Waukesha, scoring 12 of the games first 14 points en route to a 17-point lead at the end of the first quarter. It would grow to as much as 35 in the fourth quarter as the No. 2 WolfPack earned their 11th consecutive win to start the season and close out the 2015 portion of their schedule undefeated.

Madison College opened the game hitting 13 of it's first 21 shots (61.9%), including a pair of three-pointers, along with 3-of-4 free throws for a 31-14 lead through ten minutes. Eleven of those 31 points came off six first quarter turnovers by the Cougars. In the end, the WolfPack hit nearly 43% of their shots (32-75) with six 3-pointers, while the visitors struggled to surpass 30% shooting and were 0-for-14 from long range. The 'Pack turned 16 UW-Waukesha turnovers into 22 points, while also controlling the glass by a 59-35 advantage. They reeled in 23 offensive rebounds that were converted into 19 second chance points.

All 15 Madison College players saw action, with 13 finding their way into the scoring column. Rachel Slaney paced the attack with 15 points, eight rebounds, and four steals. Jenna Endres continued her impressive run of 20 straight games with ten points or more by hitting three shots from beyond the arc as part of a 13-point outing. Taylor Nelson tallied ten points, five boards, four assists, two blocks, and a steal. First year guard Mackenzie Hesgard notched her first career double-digit scoring performance with 11 points. The Monroe, Wisconsin, native was an efficient 4-of-6 overall and 3-for-4 from 3-point range over her 17 minutes of action. Mandi Sargent finished with just four points, but did lead the 'Pack with five assists as Madison College dished out assists on 19 of their 32 made baskets.

Next up for the unblemished #2 WolfPack is a home game against Kishwaukee College on Saturday, January 2 after a 22-day, end-of-semester break. Madison College will take the floor at Redsten Gym at 1:00 p.m. against a different Kougars squad.
