It came down to the final possession, however, Anoka-Ramsey College was the one to sink the final shot to hand the Madison College men's basketball team its first loss of the season. The setback came in the opener of the Border Battle Classic at Redsten Gym on Friday, November 6.
The WolfPack had four players score in double-figures, paced by second-year guard
Kris Seffrood with a game-high 25 points. The Lodi-native sank five 3-pointers and was 8-for-19 from the floor with makes on all four of his free throw attempts.
Kristian Zimmerman tallied 14 points, half of which came from the charity stripe, and a team-best five assists.
Jake Andrews scored 13 points and
Malik Henderson pitched in with a dozen. On the glass,
Cortez McCree and
Griffin Eckhart each pulled down eight rebounds.
The back-and-forth game featured 12 ties and eight lead changes. Madison College had a chance to win the game with possession of the ball and the score tied, but a turnover with seven seconds left led to the game-winning basket for the Golden Rams. The WolfPack did improve their shooting percentages from the season opener, hitting 44.6% (29-65) overall, 36% (9-25) from distance, and 72.7 % (16-22) at the free throw line.
