The WolfPack women's basketball team crushed the host Sauk Valley Community College Skyhawks Wednesday night by the score of 83 to 47 in Dixon, IL. The WolfPack and Skyhawks played an even first quarter as the 'Pack only held a 16 to 14 lead over the DI Skyhawks, but the WolfPack lead grew by 22 points in the second quarter. Madison scored 31 points to Sauk Valley's nine with tough defense and efficient offense to hold the 47 to 23 halftime lead. The visitors came out strong again in the third quarter by scoring 24 more points to the home teams nine, and the WolfPack held off the late game comeback attempt to cruise to the lopsided 83-47 win.

Madison shot 41.5 percent from the floor in the game, and the stifling WolfPack defense limited Sauk Valley to 33.9 percent shooting. Madison also shot a near perfect 10-for-11 from the charity strip, while Sauk Valley could only connect on two of their six attempts. They also scored 44 of their points in the paint, scored 20 points off of turnovers, and dominated bench scoring with 28 points to the Skyhawks four.

Taylor Nelson (13), Jenna Endres (12), and Megan Petty (10) also reached double-digits in points, and the foursome accounted for 51 of the team's 83 points.
