Madison College women's volleyball bounced back from a tough five game loss last night against Rochester with a 3-1 victory over Monroe Community College in the national third place game. The WolfPack's third place finish was the program's fourth top three national finish.
Madison College got off to a rough start as Monroe won the first game, 25-21. The WolfPack then responded in game two, winning 25-21 and holding off a late Monroe rally. In game three, the 'Pack won a close game, 26-24. With a 2-1 lead, the WolfPack sealed the victory with a 25-16 win in the fourth game.
Second year player,
Abbey Loken led the 'Pack with a game-high 12 kills while second year teammate
Allie Lehner posted a team-high three blocks.
Brianne Brueggen continued her solid play as she had 47 assists and
Stevie Winer had 32 digs.
Andrea Bauer and
Abbey Loken each had two aces in the win.
Second year players,
Brianne Brueggen and
Abbey Loken, received 2015 NJCAA Division III all-tournament honors for their outstanding play.
Madison College finished the season with 30 wins for the third straight year.
