The Madison College men's basketball team edged out the UW-Rock County Rattlers in a non-conference game in Madison 72-65. The WolfPack held a 37-32 halftime lead over the Rattlers, before visitors made things really interesting. The WolfPack marched out after the break and held a 44 to 32 lead at one point, before Rock County clawed back into the game. The Rattlers recorded 13 steals and forced 15 Madison turnovers, but Rock County fell seven points short in their comeback attempt.
Griffin Eckhart and
Cortez McCree paced the WolfPack's balanced scoring attack with 13 points apiece.
Jake Andrews added 12 points, and three others scored at least five points. McCree and Eckhart fell just short fell of doubles with nine and eight rebounds respectively.
Kristian Zimmerman led the team with eight assists, and McCree chipped in five assists and a team-leading three blocks.
The seven point win over the UW-Rock County Rattlers betters their record to 2-2 with nine more non-conference games to play before N4C action. The men have a week off before travelling to Dixon, IL to face the Sauk Valley Community College Skyhawks on November 18 at 7:30 PM. Sauk Valley is a NJCAA DI school.
