The Madison College women's soccer team couldn't hold back the high-powered Rock Valley College offense, as the RVC Golden Eagles rolled to a 5-0 win on Wednesday night in Madison. Rock Valley used four first half goals (all coming in the first 16 minutes) to jump out to the 4-0 halftime lead. Rock Valley then added another goal just over 16 minutes into the second half as the team cruised to a 5-0 win over the Madison College WolfPack.
Madison hung with RVC in the shots category as they took 16 to RVC's 18 shots, but the Golden Eagles held a 12-5 advantage over Madison in the first half. The 'Pack also record seven shots on goal to Rock Valley's nine, but the visitors were clearly more accurate.
Jamie Hess led the team with five shots, including four on goal, while
Arianna Viscarra also recorded five shots but only landed one on goal.
Kathleen Endres came off the bench and provided four shots and one on goal.
Lindsay Hamilton played the full 90 minutes in goal and recorded four saves.
Entering the game, the 5-2 overall and 5-1 (N4C) Rock Valley team was in second place in the N4C conference standings and received votes in the latest NJCAA DIII women's soccer poll.
Next up for the 4-4-1 and 2-4-1 (N4C) WolfPack is another conference game with the Joliet Junior College Wolves on Friday, October 2. The road game in Joliet, IL will serve as a chance for the WolfPack to get to back over .500 for the season. The last time the two team faced in early September, the WolfPack walked away as the victors with a big 9-0 win.
