Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

WolfPack Men suffer one point loss to Milwaukee

The Madison College men's basketball couldn't quite end their two-game losing streak, dropping a nail-biter to the Milwaukee Area Technical College Stormers, 75-76. Entering the game with a 16-3 record, the Stormers were able to overcome the WolfPack's 29 to 26 halftime lead for the one point N4C win.

The WolfPack stormed out to the early lead at the break behind 39 percent shooting from the field, while limiting Milwaukee Area Technical College to 25 percent shooting with stifling defensive. Milwaukee's height advantage (4 players over 6-5) proved instrumental in their second half comeback as they won the rebound battle 50 to 39 over the WolfPack. The figurative shooting tables also flipped, and the Stormers shot 13-of-28 (46%) in the second half, while the 'Pack only managed to hold on to their 39 percent shooting percentage after the break. The two teams also went to the line 25 times in the second half, but the Stormers connected at an 84 percent clip compared to Madison's 68 percent.

Antowan Epps led the team on the offensive end with 26 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field, including 3-of-6 shots behind the arc. He also added seven free throws, six rebounds, two steals, one block, and one assist. Kendale Nation was right behind Epps with 20 points, and Jerrod Walton recorded his third double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Walton also dished out a team high three assists and Brian Bearden recorded a team high six steals in the loss.

The WolfPack have a short break before returning to the court for this Saturday's Jam the Gym game against the Joliet Junior College Wolves. The 3:00 p.m. N4C conference game pits the 11-6 and 2-3 WolfPack against the 16-5 and 2-3 Joliet Junior College Wolves.
