WolfPack men struggle defensively versus Joliet

Box Score They were within two points at the halftime break, but the Madison College men's basketball team struggled to contain Joliet Junior College in the second half Wednesday night. The WolfPack allowed the Wolves to shoot 57 percent, and attempt 24 free throws down the stretch, before falling 80-65.

For the game, Joliet Junior College connected on 50 percent of their field goal attempts, and shot 30 more times from the free throw line. The Wolves outscored the 'Pack 44-31 in the game's final 20 minutes.

Madison, which shot 40 percent from the floor for the game, did not see a single player score in double figures. Jeffrey Cole and Nathan Scheeter led the team offensively, scoring nine points apiece.

The WolfPack (4-19, 1-8) will look to snap a three-game losing skid Saturday, when they host in-state rival Milwaukee Area Technical College in their annual "Jam the Gym" game. The Stormers beat Madison 79-69 earlier this season in Milwaukee. Saturday's tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
