Defense led to easy offense for the Madison College women's basketball team Wednesday night. Forcing 29 Western Technical College turnovers, the WolfPack scored 33 points off their opponent's mistakes, winning their second straight game by 25-plus points, 69-33.
"Defensively, we were everywhere," said Madison College head coach
Jessica Pelzel. "I think they're finally starting to buy in, and that end we played really, really well tonight."
For the game, the 'Pack held the Cavaliers to just 22 percent shooting from the floor. Conversely, the Madison College offense made 44 percent of their shots.
"We passed a lot, and our shots were just going," said freshman post player
Sydney Harms. "Everyone was shooting the ball, and everyone got their chance to show how they can do it."
Harms finished with 10 points off the bench for the 'Pack, hitting four of her eight shots from the field (50 percent), including two of her six three-point attempts (33 percent). Freshman guard
Taylor Nelson led all scorers with 15 points.
Up next, Madison College (5-3) will host Concordia University (Wis.) JV Friday, Dec. 12, at 5:30 p.m.
