Entering Saturday's game at College of Lake County, the Madison College women's basketball team had won their previous three games by an average of 33 points. So, what did they do in their final game before the Christmas break? They won by 52, beating the Lancers 95-43.
Once again, it was the Madison College defense setting the tone early. Pressing College of Lake County in the first half helped the WolfPack race out to a 49-18 lead by the break. The Lancers were held to just 27 percent shooting in the first 20 minutes, while Madison College made 50 percent from the floor.
The WolfPack would continue to shoot it well in the second. Knocking down nearly 52 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes, things were never in doubt for coach
Jessica Pelzel's team. Madison College outscored College of Lake County 46-25 down the back stretch.
Two member of the 'Pack poured in over 20 points.
Jenna Endres led the way with 25, while
Taylor Nelson added 23. Thanks to the previously mentioned defense, Madison College collected 33 points off of 31 Lancers turnovers.
The WolfPack (7-3) will enter the Christmas break on a four-game winning streak. They're now off until Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 at 1 p.m., when they visit Highland Community College (Illinois). The game will mark the team's last prior to the start of North Central Community College Conference (N4C) play.
