In what has become an odd sight in 2014, the Madison College men's basketball team lost Saturday afternoon. Shooting just 31 percent at College of Lake County, including 16 percent from beyond the arc, the WolfPack fell by a single point, 55-54.
Not helping the Madison College cause, the team was outrebounded 51-34, along with being outscored in the paint 36-32. Only two players scored in double figures for the WolfPack,
Brian Bearden and
Jerrod Walton. Bearden led the team with 20 points off the bench, while Walton finished with 13.
Madison College clung to a 22-21 lead entering the halftime break, but couldn't hold off the Lancers late. Making just 5-of-11 (45 percent) from the free-throw line in second half, the WolfPack was outscored down the back stretch 34-32, resulting in the one-point loss.
The WolfPack (8-2) will be off until Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 at 3 p.m., when they visit Kishwaukee College.
