Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

WolfPack men's basketball scores top-10 upset

Playing in just their second game of the season, the Madison College men's basketball scored as big a win as they've had in the last couple of years Friday afternoon. The WolfPack knocked off seventh-ranked Anoka-Ramsey Community College 85-80. Kris Seffrood led the top-10 upset, scoring 21 points in 26 minutes of work.

Seffrood had plenty of help though. Brian Bearden added 17 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. Antowan Epps also chipped in with 12 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Madison College went into the halftime break trailing 41-39, but turned things around by shooting 50 percent from the floor in the second half. The effort was good enough to overcome five Golden Rams players scoring in double-digits.

Defensively, the WolfPack forced 20 Anoka-Ramsey turnovers, leading to 28 points. They also outscored the Golden Rams in the paint 44-28.

After winning just four games last season, Madison College is now 2-0 to start 2014-15. They will look to continue their early success tomorrow when they play against NJCAA Division II's Gogebic Community College.
