Second time just as sweet, WolfPack volleyball national champs

Box Score For the second time in as many years, the Madison College volleyball team is your NJCAA Division III National Champion. In this afternoon's title game, facing sixth-seeded Lorain County Community College (Ohio), the top-seeded WolfPack was pushed to a fifth set for just the fourth time all season, but came up big with a 16-14 win. 

The two teams traded sets prior to the final stanza, with Madison College winning the first and third, 25-20 and 25-16, respectively. The Commodores took the second and fourth 29-27 and 25-19.

Sophomore outside hitter Katlynn Wirag led the WolfPack offense with 25 kills in the match. Meanwhile, Hannah Grahn finished with 59 assists, and Sydney Clarson paved the way defensively with 31 digs. Mikayla Nigl led the team in two categories, blocks (4) and service aces (2). 

With the win, Madison College finished its season 30-3 overall, including an 11-1 mark in North Central Community College Conference (N4C) play. 

Four players from the 'Pack were selected to the all-tournament team, including middle blockers Allie Lehner and Mikayla Nigl, along with setter Hannah Grahn. Wirag was named tournament MVP. 

Madison College head coach Toby Parker was named "National Coach of the Year."
