Box Score Conference play set to start Wednesday, the Madison College men's basketball team needs to find its defensive identity. Hosting Kishwaukee College Saturday, the WolfPack allowed their opponent to hit 63 percent of their shots, prior to falling 84-51.
Offensively, things didn't go much better for Madison College. The team finished with 24 turnovers, to just 13 assists, leading to 33 points for the Kougars.
Nathan Scheeter was the only player to finish in double figures for the 'Pack, leading the team with 14 points.
Madison College, as they have several times this season, started slow. In the opening 20 minutes, the team hit just 27 percent of their shots. That inconsistency allowed Kishwaukee to race out to a 14 point halftime lead.
Four players finished in double digits for the Kougars, with Taylor Lavery leading the way with 19 points. Lavery finished 7 of 11 from the field, including 3 of 4 from beyond the arc.
The WolfPack, 2-10 overall, will host North Central Community College Conference (N4C) opponent Triton College Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. So far this season, Madison College is 2-2 on their home floor, but is currently riding a five-game losing streak.
