They've already defeated fifth-ranked Milwaukee Area Technical College this season, but Wednesday the Madison College women's basketball team will try their hand against the top dog, two-time defending national champion Rock Valley College. The WolfPack will host the Golden Eagles at H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium, with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m.
Both teams enter the matchup at 4-0 in conference play. However, Madison College will no doubt have revenge on their mind, having lost three times to Rock Valley last season. The Golden Eagles have a little bit of a different look in 2013 though.
"They're not as big as they've been in the past," said WolfPack head coach
Jessica Pelzel, when talking about this year's Rock Valley squad. "But athletically they're at the top in the nation."
"We know they're going to be, obviously, a really good team," said freshman guard
Kelly Calhoun. "We know we can play with them. We just have to have the confidence and bring our game that day."
The game should provide plenty of offensive fireworks, as both teams come in averaging more than 75 points per game.
