Box Score Despite several slow shooting starts so far this season, the Madison College men's basketball team came out ready to play versus Joliet Junior College Saturday. Unfortunately, after playing the Wolves to within one point in the opening half, the WolfPack still fell 73-59.
Madison College knocked down 13 of their 28 shots in the opening 20 minutes, good for a 46 percent mark. However, after the halftime break, the team was only able to make five of their final 29 attempts. Joliet Junior College outscored the 'Pack 40-27 in the second half.
Brandon Holz, as he has several times this season, led the WolfPack offensively, finishing with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Shane Kanaman and
Nathan Scheeter added 12 and 11 points, respectively.
As a team, Madison College hoisted up 32 three-point attempts for the game, connecting on just eight. Meanwhile, the Wolves got more inside looks, outscoring the WolfPack 36-18 in the paint. Leon Gray led the way for Joliet Junior College with 22 points.
Madison College (2-12, 0-2) will look to snap a seven-game losing streak Monday, when they travel to UW-Marathon County. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
