WolfPack volleyball vs. Milwaukee Tech

WolfPack volleyball continues winning streak

The Madison College volleyball team faced conference rival Milwaukee Area Technical College Tuesday night. Fans who came out to support the team on their home court were treated to a three-set sweep.

The WolfPack played the first set with ease, finishing with a score of 25-2. They continued to hold down the Stormers in the second set, putting the final score at 25-11. The team finished what they started in the third set, ending the game with a score of 25-7 and securing the 3-0 victory.

"It's extremely important not to overlook anybody," middle blocker Elizabeth Mahsem said. "We need to come into every single game going 100 percent and not even worry about how good the other team is, or how they're ranked."

Mahsem and Alexis Semrow were the team's offensive leaders for the night, with five kills and seven assists respectively. Mikayla Nigl ended the night with two blocks, accompanied by Courtney Frank with seven digs and Katlynn Wirag with three aces.

"I liked their balance tonight," said head coach Toby Parker. "We got an opportunity to, again, use everybody."

The North Central Community College Conference (N4C) match brought the team's record up to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play. They will return to the court Friday, Sept. 6 in Rochester, MN at 2 p.m. to face off against Des Moines Area Community College in the Rochester Community & Technical College Invitational.
