Free Throws Doom WolfPack Men in Home Loss

Box Score The old basketball cliche is that games are won on the free throw line.  This cliche proved very true in the WolfPack's 69-58 home loss to Joliet Junior College on Wednesday, February 6th.  The team shot just 47 percent from the line and allowed the Wolves a 24-8 advantage from the free throw stripe.

The WolfPack played the N4C's top ranked team tough in the first half holding Joliet to just 36 percent from the field and trailed the Wolves by just five points at halftime.  In the second half, the Wolves got to the free throw line, shooting 26 free throws to the WolfPack's ten attempts.  The Wolves capitalized on 19 free throws and on ten second half Madison College turnovers to put the game out of reach.

Madison College received  double-doubles from both Brandon Holz and Adam Ruka as each scored 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.  Teammate Dominic Fumbanks added 12 points and three steals.

The loss pushed the Madison College men's overall record to 4-21 and dropped their conference mark to 1-8.  The WolfPack will be in action again on Saturday, February 9th against Milwaukee Area Technical College in Milwaukee, WI at 3:00 PM.
