WolfPack men lose first home game

Box Score It was a rough one for the Madison College men's basketball team Friday night. The WolfPack lost 53-75 to the College of Lake County, after trailing by as many as 26 points, in what was their first blemish at H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium.

"I think we got outplayed, outcoached, we got outeverythinged tonight," said head coach Scot Vesterdahl.

With the exception of a couple of minutes early in the second half, Madison College had trouble defensively against the Lancers. Lake County shot 51 percent from the floor, including 50 percent from beyond the arc.

Offensively, things didn't go much better for the WolfPack. The team made just 20 of their 59 field goal attempts, just under 34 percent for the game. Shane Kanaman and Brandon Holz led the team in scoring, finishing with 10 points apiece.

Madison College, 2-7 overall, will next travel to Arizona for their annual winter trip, playing games on Dec. 27 & 28. Vesterdahl hopes it's a trip that will positively impact his team. "I think there's a lot of positive things that can happen in Arizona and have over the years, and I hope that we can build some things out there."
