The Madison College Women's Volleyball team claimed their program's first national title in convincing fashion on Saturday night. In the 2013 NJCAA D.III National Championship final the WolfPack swept Ridgewater College in three games to complete a dominating tournament run.
The WolfPack won a back and forth opening game, 25-22, and followed it up with 25-19 game two victory. In their final game, they got out to a fast start and held on for a 25-22 win. The three game win was the WolfPack's third sweep of the tournament.
Tournament MVP,
Terissa Bierd, had a team leading 11 kills and three aces in the final game.Â
Hannah Grahn continued her steady play, dishing out 23 assists. Second year player,
Vanessa Clarson had 20 digs while three WolfPack players (
Terissa Bierd,
Elizabeth Mahsem and
Hannah Grahn) had one block each.

Hannah Grahn, Mikala Nigel,
Danielle Crawford and
Terissa Bierd were all named to the all-tournament team. Bierd was named the tournament's most valuable player and head coach
Toby Parker earned national coach of the year honors.
The 2013 Madison College team finished with the best winning percentage (.919) in school history and posted the most wins by a WolfPack team since 1996. Madison College has two national tournament appearances in the last five years and a national runners-up and national championship to show for it. The national title is the fifth in school history (Baseball - 1995, 1996, 1997; Women's Basketball - 2010, Women's Volleyball - 2013).
