WolfPack Men’s Basketball No Match for Joliet

Box Score The Madison College men's basketball team was defeated in a big way Saturday afternoon in Joliet, IL, as the Joliet Junior College Wolves raced out to a 46 to 18 halftime lead and never looked back on their way to a 84-36 N4C win over the visiting 'Pack. The dominating win by Joliet dropped Madison's record to 2-15 overall and 0-2 in the N4C.

Unlike the women's game against the Wolves, Joliet never gave the short-handed 'Pack a chance and raced out to the 28 point halftime lead behind 52.7 percent shooting from the field. Madison was limited to 32 percent first half shooting including 0-for-5 from beyond the arc while Joliet knocked down five triples. The second half saw a slight decline in shooting from the field for Joliet (45.7 percent), but the WolfPack also dropped down to 31.8 percent in the frame to lose the overall shooting battle. Overall, the Wolves shot 49.2 percent from the floor while Madison could only muster 31.9 percent shooting. Joliet also made seven three-point shots to the WolfPack's one, and won several other key battles. Jason Miller and Adam Ruka both led the team's offense with 12 points, but on rather inefficient shooting. Miller also led the team with eight rebounds in the loss, and three players chipped in two assists. On the defensive side, Isaiah Nordeng stood out as he picked up the team's two blocks and only steal.

Madison College looks to pick up their first conference win with a game against the Milwaukee Area Technical College Stormers tomorrow evening. The January 16 N4C home game starts at 7:30 PM.
