The Madison College women's volleyball team earned their second straight North Central Community College Conference (N4C) win Tuesday night. The WolfPack, led by
Terissa Bierd with nine kills, swept in-state rival Milwaukee Area Technical College 3-0 (25-5, 25-4, 25-9).
Entering the contest fresh off a win at College of DuPage last Thursday, the 'Pack took it to the Stormers, as evidenced by
Vanessa Clarson and
Dallas Iverson tying for a team-high in digs with just five apiece.
Danielle Crawford recorded a team leading two solo blocks and a block assist in the defensive effort.
Not having to play a ton of defense, the Madison College offense looked sharp.
Terissa Bierd led the team on the offensive attack with nine kills. The outside hitter from Deerfield, WI recorded her nine kills in 10 attacks to go along with no errors for a .900 kill percentage. She also added four digs, a service ace, and a block assist in the route.
Melinda Statz, a freshman setter from Belleville, recorded 13 assists. On the serve, Iverson stole the show by picking up four aces.
Madison College (5-2, 2-1) heads off to Minnesota to play in the Rochester Invitational, hosted by Rochester Community and Technical College, beginning this Saturday, September 8. The WolfPack is the defending tournament champion, winning six straight matches to take the title in 2011. Opponents and game-times for the 2012 tournament will be announced soon. The next conference match for Madison College is set for Tuesday, September 11. The 'Pack will visit Joliet Junior College at 6:00 PM.
