Volleyball Secures Comeback Victory

The Madison College volleyball team got off to a rough start against the junior varsity from the UW-Whitewater last Friday losing the first two games of the match (12-25, 19-25) in Whitewater, WI before rebounding for the match victory in five sets. The WolfPack pulled out the game three and four wins in close fashion (25-22, 25-23), before taking down the host Warhawks 15-7 in the final set. The non-conference win gives the WolfPack volleyball team a 12-3 record on the year.

Freshman Terissa Bierd once again led the team with 14 kills in 43 attacks. She also registered a service ace, a solo block, and nine digs. Morgan Ellickson and Payton Klein guided the offense as well, as they both recorded 12 kills, almost half of the team's 50 kill output. Klein chipped in three digs and three block assists, and Ellickson recorded 19 digs and a service ace. Alexis Semrow provided a team-high 35 assists and Danielle Crawford led the team with four service aces. Vanessa Clarson paced the WolfPack defense with 34 digs.

The 12-3 WolfPack volleyball takes to the court on Tuesday, September 25 as they travel to Palatine, IL for a N4C conference match-up with the Harper College Hawks. The 'Pack is looking to avenge an early season 2-3 conference loss suffered to Harper on August 28. Harper College is currently ranked fourth in the country in DIII volleyball by the NJCAA.
