In their season and N4C conference opening match, the WolfPack came so close to picking up a victory in front of the home crowd, but the Hawks from Harper College had other ideas. Harper jumped on top winning the first set by a narrow 25-21 margin, and the two teams kept rotating set wins until the Hawks were victorious in the pivotal fifth set 15-13 to come away with the match win. The 'Pack won the second and fourth sets, 25-22 and 25-18, in the Parent's Night loss to fall to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Freshman outside hitter
Terissa Bierd paced the 'Pack with a team high 15 kills, a team leading two service aces, two block assists, and nine digs.
Kayla Voorhees and
Payton Klein gave Madison College three players with double digits kills in the game, as they added 11 and 10 kills respectively. Voorhees also chipped in three digs, an assist, one solo block, and two block assists; while Klein added two digs, one solo block, and a block assist.
Morgan Ellickson, who just missed double digits in kills, finished the game with nine, while recording 18 digs in the five set match. Providing 46 out of the team's 47 assists was freshman

The 3-2 Madison College volleyball team returns to the court later this week for a road match against the College of DuPage Chaparrals in N4C conference showdown. The Thursday, September 30th match in Glen Ellyn, IL starts at 6:00 PM.
