WolfPack Men Fall Down the Stretch

The WolfPack men had a similar game to the WolfPack women leading until the final ten minutes.  During the final stretch the visiting Joliet Junior College Wolves made the shots and pulled away to post a 80-74 victory over the WolfPack.

The Madison College men for the second straight game jumped out to a halftime advantage.  The WolfPack behind 45 percent shooting from the field and beyond the three point line were leading by as many as 13 points in the first half.  Paced by Garrett Borgrud's 14 first half points the WolfPack led 39-32 going into halftime.

In the second half, the WolfPack led until the 10:28 mark before 14 second half turnovers started to have an effect.  The Wolves converted those turnovers into 18 points and started knocking down shots.  Joliet shot almost 54 percent from the field in the second half and made almost twice as many free throws to seal the 80-74 win.

Tyler Kowalkowski led all scorers with 24 points and six assists.  Garrett Borgrud finished with 16 points and Rodger Davis recorded his fourth double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds including nine offensive rebounds.  Alex Cook was 3-for-6 from beyond the arc to finish with 11 points and Santiago Silva had eight points and pulled down nine rebounds in the loss.

The loss moves the WolfPack to 7-16 overall and under .500 in conference play at 4-5.  The Madison College men are in action again on Saturday, February 11 against Wilbur Wright College in Chicago, IL.
