WolfPack's Fast Start Earns Big Win

The Madison College Men's Basketball team came ready to play as they jumped out to a 21 point halftime advantage against the 16-5 Milwaukeee Technical College Stormers.  The WolfPack then held on in the second half to get a big conference win, 71-64.

The WolfPack got out to a hot start due to some hot shooting.  Alex Cook drained five out of eight three pointers and the rest of the team was 18-for-36 shooting (50%) in the frist half.  The WolfPack received good shots in part due to ten assists and played well on the defensive end as well getting 25 defensive stops and forcing 10 first half turnovers.  The WolfPack led 45-24 going into the intermission against a Stormer team that beat them by seven points earlier in the season.

In the second half, Milwaukee tightened up the defense and forced the tempo closing to within three points of the WolfPack down the stretch.  But in the end, the WolfPack held on getting some key free throws in the final minute to seal the victory.

Garrett Borgrud led all scorers with 20 points on 8-for-13 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds to record his second double-double of the season.  After Alex Cook's 15 point first half he finished with 17 points playing all 40 minutes for the WolfPack.  Teammate Tyler Kowalkowski also played all 40 minutes scoring 13 points, grabbing seven rebounds and forcing three steals.  Rodger Davis continued o play big as he finished with 14 points on 5-for-7 shooting and also grabbed seven rebounds.

The North Central Community College Conference (N4C) win evens the Madison College Men's Basketball record at 4-4 and improves their overall record to 7-15.  The WolfPack have another key conference matchup on Wednesday when they face  Joliet Junior College at home at 7:30 PM.
