When playing on the road in basketball shots sometimes refuse to fall. That's what happened as the Madison College men visited Rock Valley College Wednesday night. Shooting just 31% for the game, the WolfPack was handed a 70-57 loss by the Golden Eagles.
While the 'Pack couldn't seem to get their shots to drop, Rock Valley would roll offensively. The Golden Eagles hit 21-of-48 shots from the field (43.8%). Four players managed to score in double figures for Rock Valley. Madison College saw three players of their own score in double digits.
Tyler Kowalkowski and
Santiago Silva each managed to score 11 points, with
Nathan Thomas chipping in ten. However, Madison College star sophomore
Garrett Borgrud was held to just nine points on 2-of-7 shooting.
The WolfPack would outscore the Golden Eagles in points off of turnovers 14-13, and had four more points in the paint. They also registered 14 second effort points to Rock Valley's five. The Golden Eagles held the advantage at the charity stripe, outscoring Madison College at the free throw line 22-13.
Madison College (7-18, 4-7) will look to snap a three-game losing streak when they host College of DuPage on Saturday, February 18th. The contest will be Madison College's sixth annual "Jam the Gym" event. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
