The Madison College men's basketball team had more assists, more rebounds, and a better shooting percentage than Wilbur Wright College on Saturday, still it wasn't enough to pick up the win. The WolfPack were dropped by the Rams 67-60.
Playing on the road, the 'Pack fell behind at the halftime break by six points. Wilbur Wright hit 14-of-30 from the field (46.7%) in the opening twenty minutes, including 4-of-9 from beyond the arc (44.4%). While the WolfPack only hit one three pointer in the half, they pretty much equaled the Rams in hitting 13-of-30 from the field (43.3%).
Shortly after halftime, Wilbur Wright would grab their biggest lead of the game, going up 42-31. However, Madison College made it much tougher defensively on the Rams. In the second half, Wilbur Wright would only make 8-of-27 shots (29.6%). Meanwhile, the 'Pack again shot a good percentage from the field, knocking down 14-of-34 shots (41.2%). A big difference was the Rams ability to get to the free throw line though. Wilbur Wright outscored the WolfPack 17-4 at the charity stripe, getting 23 opportunities at the line to Madison College's six.
