WolfPack Hoops Ready for Rock Valley

The Madison College basketball teams are all set to host Rock Valley College on Saturday afternoon. The WolfPack Men (3-13, 1-2) will be looking to build momentum off their first conference win of the season while the women (10-5, 2-0) will put their three-game winning streak on the line agasinst the #2 team in the nation.

Since joining the North Central Community College Conference (N4C) prior to the 2009-10 season, the WolfPack women have split their four contests with Rock Valley. In their first year Madison College won both games, while last season they lost both. However, the WolfPack were without Thresia Elskamp and Morgan Lass last season, as both players were sidelined due to injury. So far this season, the pair are accounting for roughly 17 points per game, and eight rebounds. The Madison College women (10-5, 2-0) have been perfect at home this season. Playing at H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium they are 4-0, winning by an average of 19 points.  Madison College faces a Rock Valley women's team that is 13-2 and currently ranked #2 in the nation.

The WolfPack men picked up their first home victory against Wilbur Wright College on Wednesday. Scot Vesterdahl's group is now 1-4 in their own building. The Golden Eagles won't be a pushover either. So far this season, Rock Valley has compiled a 13-6 overall record, including a 2-1 mark in conference competition. Madison College beat Rock Valley all three times the two teams met last season, including a 68-65 win in the Region IV Quarterfinals.

Be sure to come out and support both of your WolfPack basketball teams. The women will tip-off at 1:00 PM, while the men get going at 3:00 PM.
