In their home opener the WolfPack volleyball team proved just how resilient they are capable of being this season. After dropping the first two sets to the Clarke University JV squad, Madison College rallied for the three sets to two victory.
Freshman
Hillary Hausman was the star offensively for the 'Pack. Showing off some great power, Hausman managed to tally a team-high 24 kills. Hausman didn't do it all by herself though,
Ashley Ponyicsanyi registered 16 digs, and
Kirsten Halma led the way with 34 assists. Coach
Toby Parker, very pleased with his team's 3-2 victory, said afterwards "This might be the best ball control team we've ever had." It sure looked like it late, the 'Pack won the last three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-19, and 15-9.
Next up, Madison College (5-2) will square off with Joliet Junior College in their first N4C contest tonight at 6:00 PM. The next time the WolfPack returns to H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium will be Tuesday, September 13th at 6:00 PM when they play host to Triton College.
