After winning their last two games, the Madison College men's basketball team dropped their regular season and conference finale against MATC-Milwaukee on Saturday evening. The WolfPack finished 7-7 in the N4C and 14-14 overall.
Madison College shot 45% from the field in the first half, but couldn't hold down the Stormers who shot 48% to jump ahead with an eight point halftime lead. The Stormers then turned up the defensive pressure and held the WolfPack to 26% shooting in the second half while shooting at a 43% clip. Overall, the Stormers outshot the WolfPack 46% to 35%, including a 46% to 13% advantage beyond the arc for the 22 point victory.
Sophomore guard
Aaron Jones paced the WolfPack with 19 points, and sophomore center
Corey Yahnke added 17 points. Yahnke also led the team with seven rebounds. Freshman center
Garrett Borgrud and freshman
Jordan Van Cleave each added nine points.
The Madison College men's basketball team returns to the court tonight when they travel to Rockford, IL to take on the Rock Valley College Golden Eagles. The NJCAA Region IV quarterfinal game pitting the #3 seeded WolfPack and #6 seeded Golden Eagles tips-off at 6:00 PM.
