It took longer than they wanted, but the Madison College men's basketball team is on the board with their first victory this 2011-12 season. A big key to beating Olive-Harvey College 75-63 on Saturday was center
Garrett Borgrud.
Borgrud, who was injured earlier this season, had one of his finest games to date. The sophomore hit 10-of-19 shots, and made 13-of-14 free throws, to finish with a game-high 33 points. Two other members of the 'Pack scored in double-digits as well,
Darius Norris had a double-double with15 points and 11 rebounds, while
Tyler Kowalkowski tallied 12 points and nine boards. Thanks to the WolfPack post players, including Borgrud, the team outscored the Panthers in the paint 26-8. The success down low also led to a great team field goal percentage of 47.2% for the game.
Madison College (1-5) will look to build some momentum off of win number one, as they visit Rochester Community & Technical College on Tuesday, December 6th at 8:00 PM.
