Their seasons couldn't have started any differently. The Madison College women's basketball team is off to an impressive 2-0 start, while the men are a disappointing 0-2. One thing they have in common, their past success against Gogebic Community College, the team they both host Friday, November 11th at H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium.
Playing against the Lady Samsons, the WolfPack women have won seven straight, their last loss coming back in December of 2006. In the victories, the 'Pack has outscored Gogebic by an average of 13 points, scoring around 70 points per game and giving up just 57.
Like the women, the men have poured on the offense against the Samsons recently. In their three consecutive victories against Gogebic the team has averaged 77 points per outing. Defensively, the men have allowed just 60 points per game in those victories. To contain the Samsons once again would be big for the WolfPack men; a win would mark their first of the season.
Tipoff times are set for 5:30 (women) and 7:30 (men) respectively. The games will mark the home openers for both teams.
