The Madison College women's basketball team continued their strong start to the season Friday night. Welcoming Gogebic Community College to town for their home opener, the WolfPack took an 11 point lead into the halftime break and never looked back, winning in an 83-53 route.
Kinsey Mace proved to be the hot hand for the WolfPack offense. Mace, a freshman from Wisconsin Dells, scored a game-high 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Mace had plenty of help though, three other players for the 'Pack scored in double figures, including
Thresia Elskamp (11),
Courtney Spangler (11), and
Tanya Kaufmann (11). Brittany Czerneski led the Lady Samsons with 16. Where Madison College really excelled was in turning Gogebic turnovers into points. The WolfPack had 30 points after Samson giveaways.
Madison College (3-0) will look to stay unbeaten when they take their talents to Dixon, IL on Tuesday, November 15th. The WolfPack are set to visit Sauk Valley Community College at 5:30 PM.
