The Madison College men's basketball team has now lost three games by a combined 11 points. Friday night, hosting Gogebic Community College, the team couldn't close out the Samsons despite leading by six points with about six minutes to play. Gogebic went home with the 46-43 win.
The first half was a tight one, with the Samsons leading by just a single point at the break 26-25. The WolfPack would rally, with
Darius Norris leading the charge. Norris had a game-high 16 points, and was the only scorer on either side to register double-digits. Down the stretch, quick shots and missed free throws would haunt Madison. For the game the team shot just 27% from the floor, and 14% from beyond the arc. Defense helped keep the WolfPack in the game. Madison College forced Gogebic to turn the ball over 20 times. Unfortunately, it still wasn't enough.
With the loss, the WolfPack falls to 0-3 on the season. Next up is a trip to Sauk Valley Community College for a Tuesday, November 15th game at 7:30 PM.
