It looked like they had it in the bag. Playing host to fifth ranked Rochester Community & Technical College in their regular-season home finale, the Madison College volleyball team was up two games to none, and was just a couple points from finishing the Yellowjackets off. That's when it all went wrong, with Rochester rallying back to win game three, as well as the final two games for a 3-2 victory.
The first two games the WolfPack was the far superior team. Madison controlled the pace, picking up 25-22 and 25-20 wins. Game three was going the exact same way until the Yellowjackets started living up to their ranking. Staring defeat square in the face, Rochester came back in game three to steal a 26-24 win. While the WolfPack didn't quit, they never fully recovered from the game three loss. The Yellowjackets kept the momentum en route to 25-19, and 17-15 wins to close out the match.
Hannah Schwartzer led the way for the 'Pack offensively with 16 kills in the loss.
Calli Dahl came up with 23 digs,
Kate Jonas had three blocks, and
Kirsten Halma tallied 41 assists.
Madison College (20-11, 6-6) will close out their regular season next Monday, October 24th at 6:00 PM when they travel to UW-Whitewater. The Warhawks met up with the WolfPack about two weeks back, beating Madison College 3-0.
