Earlier this week, the Madison College volleyball team failed in their attempt to take a rubber match from Rock Valley College, falling 3-1. Thursday, involved in yet another rubber match with Harper College, the WolfPack fared no better. Playing on the road, the 'Pack was dropped 3-1 by the Hawks.
Harper flew out to an early two games to none lead, winning 25-17 twice. Madison College held their ground though, avoiding the sweep with a narrow 25-23 win in game three. However, the Hawks got back on track in game number four, finishing off the WolfPack with a 25-20 victory. It marked the second 3-1 loss to Harper this season for the 'Pack, after Madison College beat the Hawks 2-1 early on in the College of DuPage Invitational.
Kate Jonas led the way for the WolfPack offensively, coming up with 12 kills on the evening.
Ashley Ponyicsanyi was the defensive star, coming up with 17 digs.
Kirsten Halma finished with 27 assists.
The loss drops Madison College to 20-10 overall on the season, and 6-6 in conference play. The team has just two games left, their regular season home finale against Rochester Community & Technical College tomorrow night at 7:00 PM, and a road matchup against UW-Whitewater JV Monday, October 24th at 6:00 PM.
