WolfPack Volleyball Team Drops Close One to Rock Valley

It could've gone either way. Unfortunately, for the Madison College volleyball team it didn't go their way. The visiting Golden Eagles from Rock Valley College came into H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium on Tuesday night and beat the WolfPack 3-1.

In the opening game the 'Pack had a late lead, only to see Rock Valley rally and take it by a score of 25-23. The second game was just as close, with the Golden Eagles again taking it 25-23. Down, but never out, Madison College would find the inner strength to not give up the sweep, picking up their own 25-23 victory. However, in game four the Golden Eagles would fly out to a big early lead and never look back. The 'Pack just didn't look the same after game three, dropping game four 25-13. Calli Dahl led the WolfPack offense with 13 kills on the evening, while also being the night's defensive ace by picking up 21 digs. Kirsten Halma finished the match with 36 assists.

The road doesn't get any easier for Madison College (20-9, 6-5), which has just three games left in the regular season. Up next is a match with Harper College on the road Thursday, October 20th at 6:00 PM. The Hawks hammered the 'Pack the last time the two teams met 3-1 (25-17, 23-25, 25-12, 25-14). After that it's matches against fifth ranked Rochester Community & Technical College, followed by a trip to UW-Whitewater.
