Madison College opened up N4C play with a convincing 3-0 win over visiting Milwaukee Area Technical College. It was Parent's Night in the Redsten Gymnasium and the WolfPack women's volleyball team gave their parents and fans a real treat to go along with cake and refreshments after the game.
The short-handed Stormers team could not keep pace with the WolfPack and fell in three-straight sets 25-9, 25-12, 25-6. The Stormers made the trip to Madison with just seven players on their roster compared to the 12-woman roster of the WolfPack.
First-year setter
Kirsten Halma put up 17 assists for the WolfPack offense which was complimented by the nine kills provided from
Hilary Frey.
Hannah Schwartzer pitched in with six digs and
Ashley Biesterveld had three aces in the three-set win over the Stormers.
The win came just three days after the WolfPack took second place at the College of DuPage Classic, where they competed against NJCAA teams from both Division II and Division III.
The WolfPack defeated the Stormers 3-1 both times they played them last season and will face the Stormers again in Milwaukee on Sept. 27.
The WolfPack make a return trip to Glen Ellyn, Ill. to face College of DuPage in their next match on Sept. 2 at 6:00 p.m. They defeated the Chaparrals 2-0 (25-18, 25-11) in pool play of the College of DuPage Classic on Aug. 28.
