The Madison College Men's Basketball team used great efforts by
Aaron Jones,
Corey Yahnke and
Derrick Nillissen to earn a 86-71 win over NJCAA Division II Kishwaukee College in Malta, IL. The WolfPack also took advantage of their depth as they outscored the host Kougars 31-9 in bench scoring.
Second year transfer from the University of Alaska Fairbanks,
Aaron Jones led all scorers with 24 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the field and 8-for-9 shooting from the free throw line. Jones also dished out eight of the WolfPack's 20 assists. Teammate
Corey Yahnke earned his second straight double-double pouring in 23 points and pulling down 12 rebounds including seven on the offensive glass. Second year shooting guard,
Derrick Nillissen, got into the act as well as he went 4-for-9 from beyond the arc and added a pair of field goals to score a season-high 16 points.
The WolfPack shot 50% from the field and 45% from beyond the arc, outscoring from the host Kougars 50-39 in the second half. The WolfPack will go for their third straight win on Wednesday, December 15 at home versus UW-Marshfield at 7:30 PM.
