The Madison College Women's Basketball team got a much needed win against UW-Marshfield on Wednesday night. Four WolfPack players reached double-figures and
Alicia Kopp posted her second straight double-double with 11 points and 17 rebounds.
The WolfPack were hungry to end their three-game slide as they outscored UW-Marshfield 45-31 in the first half, shooting over 46% from the field. In the second half, they extended their lead to 22 points and that lead proved to be the final difference as the host WolfPack won 87-65. Madison College had 22 steals and the Marauders committed 26 turnovers. The WolfPack coverted those turnovers into 25 points and the WolfPack's bench outscored the Marauder's 15-3.
Four WolfPack players reached double-figures as second year guard,
Shelby Beth, led the way with 20 points, going 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Fellow second year guards,
Mya Flentje and
Jamie Nolan, posted 17 points and 15 points, respectively. Nolan and Flentje combined for 11 steals while second year post,
Alicia Kopp, continued to deliver her all-around solid performance, reaching double-figures in points and rebounds for the second straight game. Kopp pulled down a career high 17 rebounds, scored 11 points and dished out five assists in the win.
For the WolfPack women it was there first win since November 16th and it comes at a great time with their next three games against tough teams in Arizona.
